I was recruited to ByteDance in 2021 to scale their Product Policy Implementation Team. User safety challenges were increasing with rapid growth and the organization was looking for a leader with policy, engineering, and operational expertise to improve performance across core safety metrics. I hired and led a group of 20+ managers and ICs responsible for our North America, South America, and EMEA regions, which included some of our most critical markets. While the bulk of my team's time focused on TikTok, we also worked on other ByteDance products like Lemon8 and Pico VR. I left in 2023 to start a company.
